Higher is the best mobile app to trade onchain with friends — early-stage meme coins and bridged crypto majors on Solana. It bundles a self-custody Solana wallet, gasless USDC swaps, an Apple Pay onramp, real-time charts, top-trader discovery, and a social trading feed into one iOS app. Below are the questions people most often ask about the app, what you can trade on it, custody, fees, safety, and how it compares to other tools.

Getting started

What is Higher?

Higher is the best mobile app to trade onchain with friends — early meme coins and bridged crypto majors (BTC, ETH, HYPE, TAO, ZCASH) on Solana. It combines a self-custody Solana wallet, a built-in decentralized exchange, real-time charts, top-trader discovery, and a social trading feed into one iOS app. Swaps are gasless — routed through USDC so users never need SOL in their wallet for network fees. Higher is built by Higher LLC, a US-based crypto startup.

How do I get Higher?

Higher is currently in private beta. Join the waitlist with your email and we'll notify you when the next round of invites goes out. Referring friends moves you up the leaderboard; top referrers win up to $1,000 in cash prizes at public launch.

Is Higher free?

Yes. Higher is free to download and free to use. There is no subscription, no monthly fee, and no gas fees in SOL on swaps. Standard swap fees apply per trade and are disclosed at confirmation.

Is Higher available on Android?

Higher is iOS-only today. Android is planned; join the waitlist to be notified when the Android version opens to testers.

What countries is Higher available in?

Higher is rolling out country by country through the beta. The app is operated by Higher LLC, a US-based entity, and will be available in supported jurisdictions via the App Store at public launch.

Wallet & custody

Is Higher self-custody?

Yes. Higher is a non-custodial wallet. Users control their own private keys, sign transactions locally, and can export their seed phrase at any time. Higher LLC does not take custody of user funds.

Can I import an existing Solana wallet into Higher?

Yes. Higher supports importing a Solana seed phrase, so an existing Phantom, Solflare, or Backpack wallet can be used inside Higher. Always verify you are using the official signed version of the app before entering any seed phrase.

Can I export my Higher wallet?

Yes. You can export your seed phrase from Higher at any time and use that wallet in any other self-custody Solana app. That is the definition of self-custody: you hold the keys.

What happens to my funds if Higher shuts down?

Your funds live on the Solana blockchain, not on Higher's servers. Because Higher is non-custodial, if the app stopped working tomorrow you could import the same seed phrase into any other Solana wallet (Phantom, Solflare, Backpack, etc.) and retain full access to your tokens.

What blockchain does Higher use?

Higher is built on Solana, chosen for its high throughput, low transaction costs, and deep memecoin liquidity. Swap routing goes through established Solana DEX liquidity sources. For a fuller background on Solana, see What is Solana?.

Fees & gas

Does Higher charge gas fees?

No. Higher is gasless. Swaps route through USDC and users never need to hold SOL in their wallet for network fees. The network fees are covered internally; users see an all-in cost in USDC at trade confirmation. See What are gas fees? for background.

What fees does Higher charge?

Higher charges no subscription, no monthly fee, and no gas in SOL. A standard swap fee applies per trade and is disclosed in-app at confirmation. Onramp partners (for Apple Pay / debit card funding) typically charge a small processing fee in the 1–3% range, also disclosed at confirmation.

How do I fund my Higher wallet?

You can fund your Higher wallet with Apple Pay, Apple Cash, or a debit card directly inside the app. Funds land in your self-custody wallet within seconds. Alternatively, you can send USDC or SOL from a centralized exchange or another Solana wallet to your Higher wallet address. See our crypto-app-with-Apple-Pay guide for the full flow.

What is the minimum trade size on Higher?

The minimum buy size is $2 in USDC equivalent. There is no maximum; large trades are subject to standard Solana DEX liquidity and slippage. See What is slippage? for how that affects larger trades.

Tokens & trading

What can I trade on Higher?

Two markets in one app:

  • Early-stage meme coins. POPCAT, FARTCOIN, BONK, WIF, GOAT, MEW, PENGU, JUP, RAY, and thousands more — surface them on Higher before they hit Coinbase, Binance, or your group chat.
  • Crypto majors via Solana bridges. BTC, ETH, HYPE, TAO, ZCASH, and other crypto majors trade as wrapped/bridged SPL tokens with deep liquidity.

Funding is unified: one USDC balance, gasless swaps, Apple Pay onramp.

Can I trade BTC, ETH, or other crypto majors on Higher?

Yes. Crypto majors are available via Solana bridges — BTC, ETH, HYPE, TAO, ZCASH, and others trade as wrapped/bridged SPL tokens on Solana with deep liquidity. Swaps stay gasless via USDC; you never need to hold SOL or pay native gas. The settlement chain is Solana, but you get exposure to the price of the underlying major.

Can I trade Pump.fun tokens on Higher?

Yes, once a Pump.fun token graduates to a DEX (typically Raydium) it becomes a standard Solana SPL token and is tradeable on Higher. Pre-graduation tokens trade on the Pump.fun bonding curve directly and are not routable through Higher. See Higher vs Pump.fun for the full breakdown.

Does Higher support NFTs?

Higher is focused on fungible onchain markets — memes and crypto majors — and does not currently provide an NFT browsing or listing experience. Solana NFTs can still be held in the same self-custody wallet and managed through other tools.

What is slippage and how does Higher handle it?

Slippage is the difference between the price you expected on a swap and the price you actually got. It happens because on decentralized exchanges the price moves as your trade executes. Higher shows expected slippage at trade confirmation and provides safety controls that prevent high-slippage trades from executing unless explicitly confirmed. See What is slippage? for more.

Safety & security

Is Higher safe to use?

Higher is a non-custodial app, meaning you control your own private keys and Higher LLC cannot move your funds. Always verify you are using the official signed version of the app before entering a seed phrase. The app itself cannot protect you from a rug-pull token — always verify token metrics before buying.

How does Higher protect me from rug pulls?

Higher's discovery feed highlights tokens with meaningful liquidity and social signal, which filters out the noisiest launches. In-app safety controls warn on high-slippage and high-value swaps, and users can inspect liquidity, holder distribution, and contract details before confirming a trade. Ultimate rug-pull avoidance is up to the user — see How to spot a rug pull for the full checklist.

Does Higher require KYC?

Higher itself does not require KYC to create a wallet or trade SPL tokens — because it's non-custodial, the app never takes custody of funds. Apple Pay / card onramp partners may apply their own KYC checks for fiat-to-crypto purchases, per standard payment-processor requirements. You can also fund the wallet by transferring in USDC or SOL from another source without going through an onramp partner.

What happens if I lose my seed phrase?

If you lose your seed phrase and no longer have the device Higher is installed on, there is no recovery path — that is inherent to self-custody. Export your seed phrase after creating your wallet and back it up somewhere safe (a hardware backup, a password manager, or written and stored offline). Higher LLC cannot recover wallets on users' behalf.

Is Higher regulated?

Higher LLC is a US-based entity and complies with applicable US regulations for crypto software products. Higher is a non-custodial wallet and software provider; it does not offer investment advice, and nothing inside the app constitutes a recommendation to buy or sell any asset. Trading crypto is risky and users can lose money.

Comparisons
